Q: What is Snek?


Goofy Crisp:
Snek is the largest token on Cardano, ranking #1 in market cap, all-time trading volume, active wallets, liquidity, and on-chain TVL.

 

Launched fairly in April 2023 with no VC or private investor allocations, it has grown entirely from the ground up through its community.

 

Snek has become an ecosystem leader, being the first CNT listed on multiple top CEXs and driving liquidity and visibility for Cardano. Today, it is supported by the largest and most engaged community in the Cardano ecosystem.

Q: Given that Snek is the altcoin with the largest market cap on Cardano, how important do you think the project is to the chain?

Goofy Crisp:
From the very beginning, we felt it was essential to build not just a token but a culture around Snek—one that would strengthen and grow the ecosystem. That’s where the narrative came from: “If Snek wins, everybody on the chain wins. Snek is Cardano.”

 

Two years later, the numbers back this up. Snek accounts for approximately 20% of all-time trading volume on Cardano, which is virtually unheard of for a single token on other chains. On top of that, Snek makes up roughly 8% of the total TVL on Cardano, further demonstrating its central role in DeFi activity.

 

The impact goes deeper when you look at individual dApps:

 

- 33% of Strike’s TVL (perps trading)

- 50% of Flow’s TVL (lending)

- 80% of Lenfi’s TVL (lending)

 

On both decentralized and centralized exchanges, $SNEK has the highest liquidity of any token on Cardano, surpassing even stablecoins and other native assets.

Q: Can you share more about the recent exchange listings for Snek?

Goofy Crisp: Exchange listings have been a major goal for us from the very beginning.

Because Snek was born on Cardano—which has historically been a somewhat isolated ecosystem compared to Ethereum or Solana—improving accessibility through major CEX listings has always been a key priority for long-term growth.

At first, it wasn’t easy. Two years ago, Cardano wasn’t as developed as other chains, and trading volumes across most tokens were relatively low. Since volume is one of the most important metrics for getting listed, this presented an early barrier. But over the past year, both Snek and Cardano have grown significantly, opening the door for much larger listings.

This year alone, we’ve had some major milestones:

- Kraken – April

- Crypto.com – last week
- KuCoin – last week

- HTX – last week

 

With these wins, Snek now meets the qualifications, liquidity thresholds, and trading volume requirements of the top exchanges globally. Q: Why do you think Snek is still thriving two years later, while so many other projects have failed?

Goofy Crisp: The reason Snek is still thriving two years later, while so many others have failed, comes down to trust, community, and vision. From the very beginning, we understood the importance of building trust and genuinely listening to our community. Our goal was clear: create a loyal community that shares the same love and ambition to see Cardano succeed.

 

To make Snek more relevant, we didn’t stop at being a token—we built an ecosystem around it. From culture to products like SNEKbot, SNEKx, SnekFun, SNEKalerts, and the Snek Ecosystem Fund, we gave people reasons to use and engage with Snek every day.

 

We also leaned into our strength: marketing. Snek has become a marketing powerhouse, able to amplify not just itself but the entire Cardano ecosystem. Today, Snek is more than a memecoin—it’s a brand with IP, products, and real utility.

Q: Can you tell us about Snek’s recent partnerships with Cardano’s founding entities?

 

Goofy Crisp: Yes, of course. For those who don’t know, we recently announced two major partnerships with IOG and Emurgo.

 

IOG (Input Output Global) and Emurgo are two of the three founding entities of Cardano, alongside the Cardano Foundation. IOG is the engineering and research company that originally developed Cardano’s blockchain technology, while Emurgo is the commercial arm focused on adoption, investment, and building partnerships for Cardano globally.

 

Partnering with both of these entities is a huge milestone for Snek. With IOG, we have been able to align more closely with Cardano’s technical roadmap and governance, and explore ways to collaborate on improving the chain. With Emurgo, the focus has been on growth, adoption, and exchange access—areas where their global network and expertise are extremely valuable. Both partnerships strengthen our presence in the ecosystem and add credibility to Snek.

Q: What is SnekFun, and how does it contribute to the Snek token ecosystem?

 

Goofy Crisp: SnekFun is one of the main products in the Snek Ecosystem.

 

It is Cardano’s #1 launchpad—essentially the “Pumpfun of Cardano”—where anyone can create and launch tokens instantly, for free.

 

SnekFun is now responsible for around 30% of all swaps on Cardano, making it one of the most used dApps on the chain and our largest revenue generator for both the project and the $SNEK community.

 

We created SnekFun because we recognized the importance of memes and culture in driving activity on any blockchain. By making it easy to launch and trade tokens, we are helping to build and grow meme culture on Cardano, while ensuring Snek remains at the center of that movement.

 

A portion of all revenue generated by SnekFun goes back to the community, reinforcing our model of shared growth. At the same time, it generates liquidity, trading volume, and new users for the entire Cardano ecosystem.

Q: Snek has started expanding beyond Web3 with new brand ventures. Can you tell us more about these initiatives?

 

Goofy Crisp: Snek has started moving beyond web3 and into real-world brand ventures, and the response has been incredible.

 

One example is Snek Energy, our energy drink. We sold 70,000 cans in just three days, and it’s already become a recognizable part of our brand.

 

Another is Snek Figures — physical collectible figurines that are especially popular in Asia and in the web3/gaming world.

 

We believe physical products are very important in Web3 because they create a stronger bond with people. It’s one thing to hold a token, but it’s another to hold a can, a figure, or some other physical item that connects you to the brand. These products also help with promotion—people holding Snek cans at events or featuring them in content on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram amplify our reach far beyond the crypto space.

 

On top of that, we are building our lore with Giphy and preparing to launch new social channels on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram to expand our cultural footprint. And here’s some alpha: we’re already working on more licensing deals that will continue to extend the Snek brand into new spaces.

Q: How do you plan to expand Snek’s brand globally into new regions and markets?

 

Goofy Crisp: Expanding Snek’s brand globally is a key focus for us, and Asia is at the center of that strategy. A majority of the ADA from the original IPO is held by Japanese investors, so building stronger ties in that region is both natural and strategic.

 

We’ve already begun an Asian tour that includes Korea, Singapore, and Japan. This year, we are participating in Korea Blockchain Week (KBW 2025), as well as Token2049, where we’ll partner with Emurgo for a booth and side event. We’ll also be visiting Cardano House in Tokyo and IOG offices to connect directly with the Japanese ADA community.

 

On the exchange front, we’ve recently added KuCoin and HTX, both of which have strong traction in Asia. Looking ahead, we will focus on listings with Bithumb and Upbit, two of the largest exchanges in Korea, to make $SNEK even more accessible to that market.

 

It’s also worth noting that our Chinese Telegram channel is the largest non-English Snek community, highlighting the strong demand and interest from Asia.

 

The combination of cultural presence through events, regional communities, and direct accessibility through CEX listings will allow us to scale Snek’s brand and community much faster in Asia and, from there, expand globally.

Q: Where do you see Snek two years from now?

 

Goofy Crisp: Two years from now, we want Snek to be more than the largest token on Cardano—we want it to be a household name across and beyond crypto and Web3. Our goal is to grow the brand and IP so that Snek is instantly recognizable, not just as a meme, but as a cultural and ecosystem leader.

 

By that time, we expect Snek to be listed on all major exchanges, with multiple brand deals across both Web3 and Web2, and physical products available in stores worldwide.

 

We also aim for the community to grow to a scale where large Web3 companies view it as so valuable that they are willing to offer equity positions in exchange for Snek driving significant marketing power and users to their platforms—a model we’ve already seen successfully with projects like Pudgy Penguins.

 

We’ve accomplished a lot in just two years, but we’re not satisfied. We see everything so far as just the foundation. The next two years are about scaling Snek into a global brand.

Q: What are the key future plans for $SNEK, and how do you see it growing in partnership with KuCoin?

Getting listed on KuCoin was a huge step toward global accessibility and, importantly, our first real exposure to Asian markets. In many Asian cultures, snakes are seen as symbols of wisdom, prosperity, and transformation—a sharp contrast to the more negative connotations they often carry in the West.

 

This cultural alignment makes $SNEK especially well-positioned to resonate with Asian communities, who have historically been at the center of memecoin growth. With 2025 being the Year of the Snake, the timing could not be more symbolic.

Q: Meme coins rely heavily on their communities. How does Snek keep people engaged and motivated when the market is down?


Sal:
$SNEK launched in April 2023, right in the middle of a tough bear market. Our community was built during hard times—it’s our foundation; we were forged by fire. So even during dips, it’s not difficult to keep people calm. Even in a bull market, our community rarely panics.

 

On a practical level, when the market is down, the team needs to be more present than usual. We keep things lighthearted, acknowledge that times are tough, and double down on memes, humor, and active engagement with the community.

 

Ultimately, it’s consistency and resilience that keep people engaged, no matter the market conditions.

 

Q: Can you highlight how Snek leverages technology to support decentralization? In the future, will it be possible to quantify the level of decentralization and economic incentivization?

 

Rami: $SNEK is one of the most decentralized tokens in the world, built on a blockchain that prioritizes decentralization. From its launch in April 2023, $SNEK was distributed fairly, with no team allocation, no VC involvement, and no private sales. Today, over 99% of the supply is in circulation, making it truly community-driven.

 

The economic incentivization comes from the strength of the $SNEK brand itself, which has fueled partnerships and real-world adoption. DeFi teams have built entire platforms, such as Snek.fun, around it, while retail products like SNEK Energy drinks and collectible figures are already live, with many more initiatives in development. This ecosystem growth reinforces both decentralization and long-term sustainability.

Q: The $SNEK mascot has a fun, quirky vibe! Will there be merchandise, games, or NFT collections featuring the Snek character to further engage the community?


Rami:
Last year, we created a game using the Snek IP that mimicked the classic Snake game on Nokia phones. Although it was fun to play, there was too much friction because it was built on-chain—users had to sign transactions with their wallets to play. We are now repurposing the game as a web2 experience and plan to relaunch it before the end of this year.

 

We expect the new version to be played and talked about much more frequently than the first. We also plan to launch a high-quality merchandise store in early 2026, offering products our community can be proud to own and wear. This project has been in the works for a while but was delayed to further strengthen the Snek brand and IP beforehand.

 

In addition, we support community-led projects that use our IP. Snekkies, an NFT collection created by a community member, sold out 7,777 NFTs within a few hours. Snek Figures was another community-led project, where a talented artist created and sold 650 collectibles around our brand. We have always believed that allowing talented teams to use our IP helps scale the brand and project faster. In exchange, we collect a royalty on sales that goes back to our holders.

Q: Since SNEK doesn’t follow a traditional roadmap, every step of its journey is shaped by the community. What’s the most surprising or hilarious direction the community has taken SNEK that no one could have planned for?

 

Rami: Three months after our launch, one of our holders reached out to schedule a call because he had a business idea to propose. With a strong background in the food and beverage manufacturing industry, he wanted to create an energy drink using the Snek brand and leveraging our marketing power.

 

Although we had no plans for this initially, it was an idea we really liked, and we decided to run with it. Within just a few weeks, we had marketing videos and promos ready, conducted a presale that raised over $250,000, and began production. In the blink of an eye, Snek Energy was born!

Q: I’m interested in investing in your project. When and where can I buy $SNEK on an exchange where it’s already listed?

 

Sal: $SNEK is currently listed and available on KuCoin! It is also available on several other major exchanges.

 


Q: Many projects promise the moon but fail to deliver a working product or generate real revenue. Is your project different? If so, what sets Snek apart from other projects?

Rami: Having been in the crypto space for many years, even before working on Snek, we know how common this problem is. We always believed it was crucial to deliver above and beyond expectations to differentiate ourselves from the thousands of projects that are based solely on hype.

 

Building Snek.fun was a key example of this approach. We created a successful product around our brand, and today, Snek.fun is the top revenue-generating application on Cardano, used by thousands of users to create, buy, sell, and trade new tokens. A portion of this revenue goes directly back to the Snek community, allowing them to share in the growth and upside.

 

Our long-term plan is to continue building and growing multiple products around the Snek brand, ensuring that our holders directly benefit from the ecosystem’s success.

 


Q: Almost 80% of investors focus on short-term token price rather than the project’s real value. What motivates investors to hold $SNEK long-term, and what benefits can they expect?

 

Goofy Crisp: $SNEK is also a deflationary token. Each day, a significant portion of income from DEX trading fees is used to buy back $SNEK and burn it. So far, 2% of the supply has been burned.

 

As the Snek brand grows and Cardano evolves, the community will grow as well. Being the largest player in Cardano’s DeFi and cultural ecosystem, $SNEK is well-positioned to expand further.

 

All ventures within the Snek ecosystem give back in some way to the $SNEK community. SnekFun and our other products contribute direct profits to the Snek Ecosystem Fund—a fund accessible to token holders. Community members can vote on how to use or distribute that income. Holding $SNEK gives you the right to participate in these decisions and directly benefit from the ecosystem’s growth.

 


Q: If all memes disappeared from the internet tomorrow, what core strengths would keep $SNEK valuable and growing?

 

Rami: We built Snek with long-term sustainability in mind, and this is what truly differentiates us from 99.9% of other memecoins. While most memecoins have no products or revenue, Snek has developed an entire ecosystem around its brand—including Snek.fun, SnekX, Snek Energy, SnekBot, with more products on the way.

 

Snek doesn’t fall into the typical “grow holder count or die” trap that many memecoins face. Instead, it can rely on product development and ecosystem growth, which are among our biggest strengths. We like to think of Snek as the best possible blend a memecoin can offer—delivering branding/IP, products, utility, and ecosystem development.



Q: Revenue is crucial for any project to survive and grow. How has Snek built a complete ecosystem, and what are the ways it generates profit or revenue? What is the income model for the token?

 

Sal: Great question! Revenue and self-sustainability have been a focus for us from the very beginning. Relying solely on token price appreciation to fund a project is not a sustainable approach.

 

Instead, we launched multiple businesses that leverage the $SNEK IP, brand, and community.

 

Our token launching platform, Snek.fun, is highly profitable. In addition, we have SNEK Energy, an energy drink brand, SnekBot, a trading bot, and more initiatives in development.

 


Q: What strategies will Snek use to bring non-crypto users into its ecosystem? How do you balance advancing the technology while also increasing the value of the $SNEK token?

 

Goofy Crisp: This is why we are also focusing on web2 initiatives and future brand licensing deals. Snek Energy and Snek Figures are early examples of what we aim to achieve. Our goal is to bring the Snek brand into sponsorships, events, retail stores, social media (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok), and other web2 channels.

 

We are already working on expanding our IP toward this goal, with more exciting developments coming soon.
