Project Summary
Livepeer is an Ethereum-based decentralized video streaming platform. The project aims to add live video processing and distribution to the decentralized development tech stack. Livepeer Token is the platform's native token and takes the ticker symbol LPT on exchanges.
Livepeer Network nodes run the Liverpeer Media Server (LPMS), which provides live video support without reliance on a central authority. Any Livepeer node can publish a livestream video and the LPMS will process it into standard formats. Nodes can also request video streams from the network. LPT incentivizes honest participation in the protocol via staking, but ETH serves as the platform's medium of exchange.
