As reported by Finbold, Bitflow, a decentralized exchange, and Pontis, a DeFi platform, have launched the first Bitcoin Runes Automated Market Maker (AMM) on Stacks, a Bitcoin Layer-2 scaling solution. Announced on December 18, this initiative aims to enhance the application of Runes, fungible BTC tokens, by addressing issues like slow transaction speeds and high fees. The launch follows the Stacks Nakamoto upgrade, which significantly reduced block times. The Runes AMM, supported by the Pontis Bridge, offers secure and irreversible transactions, leveraging a federated multi-signature system. Filip S, a core contributor at Pontis, emphasized the enhanced user experience for BTC traders. The platform supports various Runes and offers incentives like a 5% BTC yield on sBTC deposits. Future expansions may include additional BRC-20 tokens and native BTC assets.
