Based on CryptoBriefing, BPCE, a major French bank, plans to introduce Bitcoin and crypto investment services in 2025 through its subsidiary Hexarq. This move follows regulatory approval from the AMF, France's financial markets authority. Hexarq recently obtained PSAN authorization, allowing it to legally operate in France's digital asset market. This makes Hexarq the fourth company and second bank in France to receive such approval. The services will be available via an app targeting customers of BPCE's Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Épargne networks. France is leading the EU in crypto regulation, with the AMF accepting applications for crypto asset service provider licenses under the MiCA regulation since July 2024.
