Based on BeInCrypto, the Hamster Network, a Layer-2 blockchain launched in February 2025, has experienced a dramatic 99.9% decline in transaction volume just two weeks after its launch. Initially, the network outperformed Solana with a peak of 34,021 transactions per second (TPS), but as of March 13, it processes only 0.84 TPS. The network's early success was largely driven by hype around crypto airdrops, and the recent conclusion of the 'GameDev Heroes Combo' event has further reduced user engagement. The Hamster Kombat game, part of the network, has seen a drop from 11.5 million to 10.3 million monthly players. Despite these setbacks, the team plans further stress tests to explore the network's capabilities. The powering token, HMSTR, has also seen a price drop of nearly 4% in the last 24 hours.
