Derived from CoinTelegraph, Metallicus, a digital banking and blockchain platform, has acquired Bonifii, a fintech service company connected to 70 credit unions. This acquisition aims to integrate Metal blockchain solutions into Bonifii's portfolio, potentially expanding Metallicus' reach to over 80 credit unions. The partnership will establish a separate CUSO for credit union partners on The Digital Banking Network, a multilayer blockchain network. Marshall Hayner, CEO of Metallicus, highlighted the company's active role in the digital banking space, including its early involvement in the US Federal Reserve's FedNow digital payments system. Bonifii's president, John Ainsworth, will join Metallicus as General Manager to lead the expansion into the credit union sector. Prior to the acquisition, Bonifii had raised approximately $20 million in investment rounds.
