Derived from U.Today, Ripple President Monica Long recently provided insights into the newly launched RLUSD stablecoin. The stablecoin, which went live on global exchanges on December 17, 2024, aims to set a new benchmark in the stablecoin market. Issued on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, RLUSD is designed with regulatory compliance as a key feature. It is one of the few stablecoins issued under a New York Trust Company Charter, ensuring strict oversight. The launch marks a significant milestone for Ripple and the XRP community, with RLUSD being an enterprise-grade, USD-denominated stablecoin. Statistics shared 24 hours post-launch indicate a positive start, with a total supply of 68,200,300 RLUSD and a reported $1,700,000 volume on the XRPL DEX. The stablecoin has 32,908 trustlines on XRPL and 5,875 holders on XRPL, along with 492 holders on Ethereum. Ripple has also formed an advisory board including notable figures such as former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair and former Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan.
