How to Set Up Copy Trading
Now you can experience copy trading on the KuCoin App by following the steps below.
1. Open the KuCoin app, log in to your KuCoin account, and go to Markets → Copy Trading.
2. Select a lead trader and tap on Copy. You can filter lead traders by:
Time Range: 7/30/90-day performance
lead trader Performance Indicators: Rate of Return, PNL amount, trade size, current follower count, total PNL of followers.
3. Configure copy trading parameters.

4. After configuring these settings and agreeing to the service terms, tap on Copy. The copy amount will transfer from your spot trading account to the copy trading sub-account.
Note:
During copy trading, lead traders may add margin, which could raise your position risk above that of the lead trader. Please monitor your copy trading positions.
If the lead trader holds multiple positions or adds margin frequently, followers using the fixed amount mode may encounter failed trades due to insufficient margin. Please regularly check your copy trading positions and adjust the copy amount or per-trade margin to minimize failures.
How to Manage Copy Trading
1. Tap on My Copy Trades. You can go to My Positions, My Traders, and My Following to view your current copy trading positions and traders, as well as those that have ended.
2. In My Positions, you can close current positions using a market order.
3. In My Traders, you can unfollow a lead trader. If positions are open, the system will immediately close them at market price. After closing, profit sharing is settled, and remaining assets return to your spot trading account.
Follower Data Indicators

How to Evaluate Lead Trader's Performance
KuCoin provides detailed performance data for each lead trader. You can view basic performance metrics on the copy trading page or tap on a lead trader’s card to view their profile with more comprehensive trading data.
1. Lead Trader Profile
The lead trader profile includes PNL summary, copy trade overview, position duration, preferred assets, position details, and follower PNL details.

| Profit and Loss (PNL) | The total PNL of the lead trader. PNL = Ending Assets - Starting Assets + Withdrawals During the Period - Deposits During the Period |
| Rate of Return (PNL%) | Calculated using the simple Dietz method. |
| Total Follower PNL | Followers' Realized PNL (after fees) + Unrealized PNL (after fees) - Profit Sharing Amount |
| Lead Trading Principal Amount | Total assets in the lead trader’s Lead Trading Account. |
| Assets Under Management (AUM) | The total principal amount used in copy trading. |
| Trading Frequency | Daily average of lead trader’s open and close trades |
| Time Held | The duration of their open and closed positions, along with their PNL statuses. |
| Preferred Assets | Shows the lead trader’s trading preferences by currency, based on closed trade volume during the specified period. |
2. Lead Trader Position Details
Here you can view details of current and past positions, including:
Current Position: trading pair, leverage, PNL, rate of return, average entry price, current price, holdings, and close date.
Past Position: trading pair, leverage, PNL, rate of return, closed positions, average holdings price, average close price, open time, close time.
3. Follower PNL Details
Here you can view followers’ copy trading duration, PNL from copy trading, and copy amount.
