IUNGO is a globally distributed wireless internet service provider built with the help of a worldwide community.IUNGO is bootstrapping a community where everyone can assume responsibilities and benefit from the associated rewards for running parts of the service delivery infrastructure. Members can contribute by installing Public Wi-Fi access points on their premises and/or running parts of the service infrastructure.
The Iungo network will rely on the existing physical internet infrastructure to carry end-user traffic. Anyone can become a service provider by installing the Iungo software and registering their access point. The local access points will connect to service gateways running Iungo software. These gateways will provide all end-user identity verification and handle payment transactions. Each gateway will also embed an ethereum node to interact with smart contracts on the ethereum platform.
Each access point will be served by two wifi networks, one open unencrypted and the other authenticated and encrypted. Only the open network will be broadcast, and it will greet customers with a captive portal offering users acess. Those with the Iungo mobile wallet application can pay with ING, whilst others can pay using a secured Iungo cloud wallet. Customers will also be offered to download the mobile wallet application.
