Q: Tell us everything about the vision behind FreshCut and why are you launching it?

James: My co-founders and I are an ex-Twitch team. We love gaming, and we love the community — that's what made Twitch so successful. We also are big web3 believers and believe the technology has the potential to reshape legacy business paradigms and help redistribute wealth to all users.

Our vision is to be the home for short-form gaming content and to share value back to creators and community members — a place where legacy web2 social platforms like TikTok and Instagram fail big time.

The global gaming content category has been growing over 40% YoY for the last four years, and the short form clips segment is incredibly fragmented and underserved -- gaming has over 1 billion fans globally playing and watching games. They all deserve a better experience and better value.

FreshCut is a web3 gaming community and content ecosystem built for creators and fans. Q: Can you tell our community a bit more about the FreshCut Ecosystem?

James: Our ecosystem begins with the FreshCut mobile app (iOS and Android) for watching short-form gaming content, web viewing experience, the $FCD token, and our community of creators, fans, esports, and game studio partners. You can download the app and view it on the web.

Once $FCD is live on exchanges after TGE (today, May 12, 2022), you'll be able to earn $FCD by participating in our Discord community events. Later this summer, you'll be able to earn $FCD in-app for watching content and completing quests. We think this will be one of the first gaming content apps to launch with a token. You might have heard of "exercise-and-earn" - we're introducing "watch-and-earn"!

In the future, we will create added utility for $FCD by partnering with other projects in the web3 ecosystem, building out our membership program for $FCD holders, expanding our community events IRL & online, and adding revenue streams like advertising and NFTs.

We will also look to partner with games and game companies, leveraging strategic investors like Animoca, C2X (Com2Us), and Polygon — growing their games and our communities together. We are partnered with some of the best gaming creators, including Brycent, Chief Pat, Mystic7, and many more. FreshCut is backed by leading investors, including Galaxy Interactive, Animoca Brands, Republic Crypto, and Polygon.

Q: Tell us more about the team behind FreshCut and how your experience has led you here?

James: My co-founders and I come from Twitch, where we grew and scaled the platform to 100s of millions of dedicated fans and community members. We worked with some of the biggest creators, game publishers, and eSports organizations globally, such as Blizzard, Riot, Valve, Ubisoft, PUBG, and others.

I previously ran global business development and strategic partnerships at Twitch handling commercial alliances with all of our game companies, esports, and platform partners. Prior, I was a lead for Xbox Studio's publishing team working with global IPs like Halo, Gears of War, and Minecraft. Follow me on Twitter.

My co-founder and chief content officer, Ernie, was one of the earliest content creators on Twitch and YouTube - he helped build the Twitch Creator program and onboard their creator community to over 30,000 partners.

My other co-founder and chief product officer, Ben, worked on the creator and streaming tools that millions of Twitch creators used.

We realized that there was no home for short-form gaming content on the internet and wanted to fix that. We also saw that traditional web2 business models don't reward the creators, fans, and community. Today we're a team of 25+ with experience from Twitch, Xbox, Microsoft, Reddit, and other leading companies.

Q: Let's talk about FreshCut's competitive advantage. What differentiates you from other similar projects?

James: First and foremost, we're unique and first to market. There is no other short form gaming content platform with a natively integrated token into the mobile app layer — there are very few mobile apps today with an integrated token.

Generally compared to web2 content platforms:

We think FreshCut complements the streaming platforms and is more competitive with TikTok/IG, which doesn't offer a good viewing experience for gaming content. It's hard to find your favorite games, creators, etc. - NONE of these platforms focus on gaming like FreshCut.

Web2 legacy content platforms take most profits away from the creators, ranging from 30 to 50%. With FreshCut, we'll give creators 90% of tips, with 10% going back to the community treasury. We're focused on delivering more favorable economics for the community.

We're building a thriving ecosystem around $FCD - by integrating it into our app, community events, and more to reward the creators and fans that help make the platform.

We're partnering with the biggest names in web3 gaming creators like Brycent, Chief Pat, and Mystic7 and some well-known web2 streamers like JERICHO. Later this summer, we'll be launching a major Creator Fund initiative to support and onboard new and existing creators on FreshCut. Here's a graphic to show where we are. We're in the middle of these 3 large growing categories – social-video, gaming, and web3.

Q: What key features are you developing in your roadmap?

James: This summer, we'll integrate our native wallet into our mobile app so users and creators can earn $FCD within iOS/Android via create-and-earn and watch/engage-and-earn mechanics.

Fans will be able to earn $FCD for completing daily/weekly quests, watching videos from their favorite creators, and participating in the community. You can get rewarded for doing what you already like! Similar to a great model today — StepN, an exercise to earn NFT game — and with us, Watch-And-Earn and Create-And-Earn.

We'll also introduce our FreshCut Membership Program, where fans can use $FCD to purchase memberships that give them varying levels of access, benefits, and perks. Some great membership models like BAYC inspire us. We believe in rewarding our early backers.

We're also thinking about advertising and enabling creators to design, create and sell digital collectibles (NFTs) as additional revenue streams in the future.

From a growth perspective, it all starts with creators. We're focused on onboarding creators in 2022 and bringing their communities of fans along with them. We have a full blitz plan to onboard creators and great web3 gaming partnerships after TGE and the rest of the year.

Q: How are you planning to onboard and attract non-crypto users and increase their awareness of FreshCut?

James: At the core, we're building a platform that first solves an entertainment problem and need for 100s of millions of gamers (so web2 and web3), and fans will be able to discover both web2 and web3 games and creators — and in doing so, all will discover $FCD as the underpinning of that entertainment, earning, spending, and using the token.

To attract new users to our platforms - we're focused on onboarding new creators, as mentioned earlier. These creators will bring their fans and communities to FreshCut and grow our community (for reference, there are over 100 million content creators on Twitch + YouTube and traditional web2 platforms). We'll offer them a better experience as creators for short-form content discovery and monetization. We'll also be launching an evergreen Creator Fund to attract and incentivize top creators to join FreshCut.

To attract fans, we'll not only let them watch their favorite creators - but we'll also reward them with $FCD while they're at it. We have an extensive calendar of community events and activations both online and IRL to engage and retain both creators and fans once they join FreshCut. Beyond this, we'll launch our membership program that will add value for $FCD holders and further build our community.

Q: Can you talk about the partnerships FreshCut has and how they contribute to the ecosystem's growth?

James: We already have 150+ curated content creators on our platform who actively contribute to the content platform and event ecosystem.

We have partnerships with the top web3 content creators, Brycent, Chief Pat, and Mystic7, who will help us become the top place for web3 content creators to share their content. We encourage you to check them out on Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube.

We also have partnerships with top Esports leagues/properties like Smash World Tour (the largest Smash Brothers tournament in the world) and EVO (the largest fighting game championship in the world) for access to top gaming content and communities and events both online and IRL.

We also have great partnerships in the works with Games (web2 and web3), Web3/Crypto Platforms + Studios, like Polygon and Animoca, and creators and esports that will help us expand our ecosystem. Investors like Polygon and Animoca see FreshCut as an essential web3 service to empower gaming content creators and gaming marketing and distribution. We'll be announcing many more partnerships over the course of the year.

Q: What are your top 3 things for priorities in 2022? Could you share some plans for the upcoming year?

Q: Almost 80% of investors are focused purely on the price of a token in the short term instead of understanding the real value and health of the project. Could you tell us the motivations and benefits for investors to hold your token in the long term?

James:

  1. Gaming is forever, and there are over 100 million gaming content creators and over 1 billion gaming players.
  2. The FreshCut platform and ecosystem are meant to last as long as all the major web2 content platforms (e.g. Twitch, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) — if not forever.
  3. The FreshCut Team has the longest lock-up/vesting schedule of all token holders — 4 years — you can rest assured we're designed for long-term success.

Q: Is your project a community for only English-speaking countries or for users not of other languages?

James: We're a global project. Gaming and content creation are global, and so are we.

Q: Too many projects promise magic but never release any working product or prove any revenue, Within a short/long time of release. Is your project also like this? If not, can you tell us, What makes your project different from other projects?

James: Our software is ready today. We've been building our team and software in stealth for two (2) years. There's no promise for the future; our products are here now. Also, we have an ex-Twitch background and have built similar products before. We also have a team of 25+ experts to complete and iterate on our roadmap.

James: Hi, our project is for everyone. We have anchors from some of the most relevant web3 gaming and social-fi investors globally.
