As per CoinTelegraph, Fred Thiel, CEO of Bitcoin mining firm MARA Holdings, has recommended a long-term 'invest-and-forget' strategy for retail investors interested in Bitcoin. In a January 2 interview with FOX Business, Thiel highlighted Bitcoin's historical performance, noting it has only declined in three of the last 14 years. He suggested that Bitcoin's average annual growth of 29% to 50% makes it a worthwhile investment. Thiel also pointed to potential catalysts for Bitcoin's price increase by 2025, such as a U.S. Bitcoin reserve and increased institutional adoption. Despite Bitcoin's volatility, Thiel's firm, MARA, plans to hold its Bitcoin for the long term, having increased its holdings by 192.5% in 2024. This strategy aligns with the sentiment of Bitcoin advocates, as reflected in a poll by MicroStrategy's Michael Saylor, where 77.7% of respondents plan to increase their Bitcoin holdings by 2025.
