As reported by Benzinga, Tom Lee, head of research at Fundstrat, has reiterated his prediction that Bitcoin could surpass $250,000 within the next 12 months. Lee attributes this potential surge to Bitcoin's halving cycles and possible U.S. government adoption. He highlighted the recent halving event, which reduced Bitcoin's new supply, as a key factor for price momentum. Lee's forecast aligns with Bitcoin's significant growth in 2024, where it gained 121% and exceeded $100,000. The market capitalization of cryptocurrencies nearly doubled to $3.28 trillion. Lee also noted the pro-Bitcoin stance of the President-elect Donald Trump administration, suggesting that U.S. acquisition of Bitcoin could enhance its legitimacy. Despite this optimism, trading volumes have recently dropped, though large investors continue to accumulate. Bitcoin is currently trading at $93,444.40, down 0.21% today.
