How Pre-Market Works

  • Buy as Maker
  • Buy as Taker
  • Sell as Maker
  • Sell as Taker
  • Click on Create Order, and place a buy order by entering the quantity and price. After putting down your collateral, confirm your order.

  • Wait for a seller to match your order. Once a seller has taken up your order, simply wait until the token is listed on KuCoin.

  • Once the seller delivers on the order within the agreed time frame, you'll receive your tokens. Otherwise, you'll be compensated and get your collateral back.

FAQ

What is Pre-Market?

Pre-Market is an over-the-counter (OTC) trading platform exclusively for trading new tokens before their official launch. It allows buyers and sellers to set their price quotes and match trades, securing their desired prices and liquidity in advance.

To trade on Pre-Market, please ensure you possess adequate funds before trading and are able to fulfill delivery within the agreed-upon time frames.

Can I cancel an order once I've confirmed it?
Once an order is filled, it can only be canceled with the counterparty's consent. Note: 5% of the collateral will be charged as a cancellation fee, and up to 95% will be accorded to the counterparty as compensation.
What happens if I can't complete my trade within the agreed time frame?
Failing to deliver promptly on trade obligations will result in the loss of your collateral. Always ensure you can meet trade conditions on time.
If my order is filled as a buyer, does this mean I will receive my tokens immediately?
The time frame for tokens to be delivered can be found on the Pre-Market landing page. Please be patient and wait for the seller to deliver on their trade at the stipulated time.
What if a token doesn't get listed, or if the listing schedule is delayed?

In the event of a delay or cancellation of the token listing, Pre-Market orders will either be postponed or canceled altogether.

Delay: Filled orders remain valid. The new delivery time will be announced by KuCoin. Unfilled orders will be canceled if Pre-Market closes.

Cancellation: All orders are nullified. Frozen funds due to Pre-Market trading are typically refunded to the user's trading account within one business day. Trading fees will not be charged.

Do Pre-Market trades affect a token's initial listing price on KuCoin?

While Pre-Market trades can reflect market expectations, the official listing price itself might be influenced by a much larger set of factors.

It's important to note that both Pre-Market and official listing prices are ultimately determined by the markets. There might not necessarily be a direct correlation between the two.

How do I complete delivery?

You can successfully deliver on your trade as long as you have enough tokens in your Trading Account. Here are two simple ways to make sure:

1. Deposit Enough Tokens

Ensure you have the right token ticker and deposit address.

Transfer enough tokens to your Trading Account, then wait for settlement time.

2. Purchase in Spot Market

Buy tokens via the Spot Market, transfer enough tokens to your Trading Account, then wait for settlement time.

Note: Only tokens from your Trading Account will be considered for delivery. Tokens stored in other accounts (e.g., Funding Account) will not be recognized, and you risk losing your collateral.

How are Pre-Market fees calculated?

Normally, Pre-Market fees are calculated as: 2.5% * Total Trading Amount, with a maximum of 25000 USDT per order. Depending on the traded token, there may be minimum or maximum charges per order.

Clearance Fee: In cases where the buyer or seller fails to deliver within the designated time frame, KuCoin will impose a clearance fee, which will be deducted from the collateral.

Note: Fees are not incurred on uncompleted orders. Also, the fees from Pre-Market trading are distinct from KuCoin's spot trading fees.
