CrowdStrike announced the acquisition of Fiddler AI to boost enterprise-grade security for AI agent monitoring. The integration will operate under Falcon Observe, tracking AI decisions to flag unintended actions. The feature is set for Q4 2027. CrowdStrike also plans to acquire Dreadnode for automated AI security testing. Both moves aim to strengthen enterprise blockchain and AI compliance in corporate settings.

CrowdStrike announced a planned acquisition of Fiddler AI on Tuesday, highlighting the danger of AI agents taking harmful actions without being compromised. CrowdStrike plans to incorporate Fiddler's technology into the Falcon platform under the name Falcon Observe. CrowdStrike intends to make Fiddler's capabilities available in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027.

AI agents can use legitimate credentials to reach corporate applications, obtain sensitive information and perform tasks. However, authorized access does not ensure correct decisions: an agent could disregard instructions, perform an unintended action or depart from the assigned task. CrowdStrike said agents can cause harm even while following approved guardrails and using authorized enterprise tools. Traditional security tools can detect suspicious access or malicious activity, but explaining an authorized agent's decisions requires another monitoring layer.

Fiddler's technology can follow agent decisions, reasoning paths and interactions with tools to help businesses detect behavioral drift, unintended actions and failures. CEO George Kurtz described Fiddler as a "flight recorder for every agent" that enables businesses to explain AI actions and reasoning when regulators, boards or risk managers seek answers. Fiddler's technology can also assess accuracy, task completion and adherence to company policies before agents enter production.

CrowdStrike also plans to acquire Dreadnode, which automates security testing for AI models, applications and agents. Dreadnode's technology can apply more than 100 attack strategies, including prompt injection and jailbreaks, to find vulnerabilities before deployment. The planned acquisitions would equip Falcon to test AI systems before launch and monitor agent behavior during operation inside businesses. CrowdStrike also announced an AI Kill Switch through Falcon Guardian to halt unauthorized agent activity at runtime.

Businesses deploying more autonomous agents may need tools that explain agent decisions, track behavior and demonstrate compliance with approved boundaries. Whether this developing AI security category can generate substantial customer demand and recurring revenue remains an open question for CrowdStrike investors. Converting concerns about AI accountability into paid enterprise adoption will be an important measure of CrowdStrike's progress.
