Europol launched a crypto scam alert as part of a major crackdown on an international investment fraud network. In November 2026, German authorities led a seven-country operation supported by Eurojust, seizing over 100 servers and arresting seven suspects. The scheme, uncovered after a four-year investigation, used fake trading platforms and call centers to defraud victims of over €4 million. A network upgrade in enforcement coordination helped expose the operation.

European authorities have dismantled key infrastructure behind an international investment fraud network targeting victims across more than 50 countries. The coordinated operation involved seven countries and resulted in over 100 server seizures and seven arrests.

Europol and Eurojust supported the investigation, which uncovered a suspected network supplying fraudulent trading platforms and operating call centers. Investigators estimate that victims lost more than €4 million through the scheme. German authorities led the November 3 operation after four years of investigations.

Fraudsters Used Fake Trading Platforms to Exploit Investors

The suspected network supplied criminal groups with websites advertising profitable cryptocurrency, forex, and stock investments. However, these platforms displayed fabricated profits to convince investors that their deposits generated substantial returns.

Fraudsters initially requested small deposits before encouraging victims to invest larger amounts. Additionally, operators used fake brokers to maintain pressure and discourage withdrawals.

The scheme also exploited online advertisements to attract potential investors. Criminal groups allegedly purchased personal information from advertising campaigns and used it to target victims through call centers.

International Raids Expose Criminal Infrastructure

Investigators traced the network after a German couple reported withdrawal difficulties in 2022. Subsequent operations in 2022 and 2025 uncovered evidence linking platform providers to call centers.

The latest raids covered 17 locations across participating countries. Authorities seized digital evidence and assets while preparing seven suspects for extradition to Germany.
